Hawke’s Bay Cup: Indian eves suffer defeat against Japan in quarters
Indian women's hockey team's hopes of a semi-final spot went in smokes on Thursday after they suffered a 1-3 defeat to Japan in the quarter-final of the 2016 Hawke’s Bay Cup. Minami Shimizu, Aki Mitsuhashi, and Motomi Kawamura scored the goals for Japan, while Rani scored the lone goal for India.

The Indian women's hockey team suffered their second straight defeat in the 2016 Hawke's Bay Cup on Sunday after losing 0-4 to Ireland. Anna O’Flanagan, Nicola Daly, Chloe Watkins and Megan Frazer scored the goals for Ireland. India had lost their opening match 0-1 to New Zealand on Saturday.

The Indian women's hockey team went down 0-1 to hosts New Zealand in the opening match of the Hawke’s Bay Cup on Saturday at Hastings, New Zealand. Olivia Merry scored the all-important goal for the Kiwis in the match, which also saw Indian forward Poonam Rani earning her 150th cap for the country.
