India win big at the at Special Olympics World Summer Games

The Indian contingent at the Special Olympics World Summer Games have done the nation proud as they returned home with a whopping 368 medals that had 85 gold medals, which was held at Abu Dhabi March 14 to 21. The Indian squad of 284 athletes also secured 154 silver and 129 bronze medals.

The total group of 284 athletes that represented India at the recently concluded Special Olympics World Summer Games held in Abu Dhabi have returned home to much fanfare. There were thousands of well-wishers who were rooting for the entire contingent who came home with a total of 368 medals, fo which 85 were gold medals.

The Summer Games concluded on March 21, saw the Indian team add a total of 154 silver and 129 bronze medals in what has been one their highly successful campaigns at a global event. Indian powerlifters were the most successful of the lot as they bagged the most medals - 20 gold, 33 silver and also 43 bronze.

Roller Skating gave the Indians 49 medals, which included 13 gold, 20 silver and 16 bronze. Meanwhile, in cycling, India bagged 25 medals, 11 gold, 14 silver, and 20 bronze. The nation’s track and field athletes came home with 39 medals - 5 gold, 24 silver and 10 bronze.
