UTT | Bernadette Szocs and Matilda Ekholm pilot Falcons to finals against Dabang Smashers
Bernadette Szocs from Romania and Sweden's Matilda Ekholm established an 11-10 win over Mavericks and led defending Champions Falcons TTC to a Grand final against Dabang Smashers. Bernadette Szocs registered two victories to her name, while Matilda Ekholm defeated Ayhika Mukherjee.
Bernadette Szocs and Matilda Ekholm have undeniably, removed all hurdles interrupting defending champions Falcons TTC from entering into the finals. With their brilliant victories, both the players have set up a final where Falcons will be clashing with Dabang Smashers for the title. Ekholm effectively subdued Ayhika Mukherjee, dominating in all the three sets they played by 11-4, 11-3, 11-4 at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. Though Sutirtha Mukherjee was defeated 2-1 by Mavericks’ Sabine Winter, she earned herself a critical analytical point.
Similarly, Alvaro Robles had to face disappointment, competing against Harmeet Desai. While the first two sets were claimed by the Mavericks captain by 11-6, 11-10, Alvaro Robles was able to manage a vital point in the third set.
