Croatia Grand Chess Tour | Viswanathan Anand continued drawing run against Anish Giri in sixth round

Viswanathan Anand is yet to break his winless voodoo in the ongoing grand chess tour as he played out a draw against the Netherland’s Anish Giri in the fifth round in Croatia. At the moment, current World No. 1 Magnus Carlsen and Wesley So are on top with four points each after six rounds.
Anand’s sequence of draws has now extended to as many as five rounds as he was seen splitting the point with Giri in the sixth round of Croatia Grand Chess Tour.
Anand had started the tour on a poor note with a shocking loss to Russia’s Ian Nepomniachtchi in the very first round after an encouraging start to the game. And he has failed to get a positive result since. He has since played out a draw against America’s Wesley So among others with the last one being against French chess player Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.
However, the tournament saw some refreshing change in the other five games as they proved quite decisive. While Ding Liren upstaged overnight leader Nepomniachtchi, Carlsen and Wesley So are now sitting at four points alongside the Russian after easy victories.
