Kohli is a good leader: Ganguly
Former India captain Sourav Ganguly on Sunday praised Indian Test captain Virat Kohli’s captaincy but said that Kohli’s real challenge will be captaining abroad. Ganguly also dismissed the controversy around the pitch at Nagpur describing it as a “one-off thing.”
After clinching the series against South Africa at Nagpur, more praise was showered on Virat Kohli’s captaincy by former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly.
"He (Virat) is a good leader ... he will be a good leader, but I have said before challenges for Indian captains is not in India its away," the former left-hand batsman said on the sidelines of Coca Cola-NDTV "Support My School" campaign in Mumbai, reported PTI.
Ganguly also said that he likes Kohli’s way of captaining the side and is fond of his attitude and aggression. "I like him. I like what I see on the field, he wants to win, he is passionate, you can see on the field and India has hopes on him," Ganguly added.
When asked about the controversy around the Nagpur pitch, the former Indian skipper shrugged off the pitch as a “one-off thing.” "I think it's a one-off thing, I don't think India will produce such pitches....," Ganguly said, reported PTI.
On the proposed India–Pakistan series, Ganguly said, "I don't know, it depends on the government... its always been the case ... India Pakistan (series) depends on the government and its not going to change," reported PTI.
