Visakhapatnam will now host the second ODI between India and Windies after Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) expressed their inability to host the game over complimentary tickets issue. The match was initially supposed to be held at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on October 24.

The disagreement between BCCI and the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) over the distribution of the complimentary passes took a severe turn when the latter decided not to play hosts for the game. The mess-up occurred thanks to the revised BCCI constitution which has clearly stated that 90% of the ticket should be up for public sale and only 10% of the passes can be used as complimentary.

However, Indore has only 7000 seats in its pavilion, which meant 700 of them will be issued as complimentary passes. If the state association will provide 5% - which means 350 tickets to BCCI - they will be left with 350 tickets as passes for various stakeholders in Madhya Pradesh, which is logistically not feasible for them.

"The second Paytm ODI to be played between India and Windies will now be held at Visakhapatnam’s Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium," the BCCI press release announcing the change read.

While Baroda was the front-runner to replace Indore on the roster, now, Visakhapatnam, out of nowhere, has been declared as the venue for the game.

India will host Windies in two Tests, five ODIs, and three T20Is with first Test starting on October 4 in Rajkot. After the Test series, the teams will move to Guwahati for the first of the five 50-overs matches with the other four venues being Visakhapatnam, Pune, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram.
