Swapna Barman to get seven customized pair of shoes from Adidas
Asian Games gold medallist in heptathlon event, Swapna Barman will be receiving seven pairs of customized shoes from Adidas. The 22-year-old youngster had earlier in the year shot to the limelight after she became the first woman athlete from India to win a Gold in Heptathlon at the Asian Games.
Swapna Barman, the Indian heptathlon athlete, has two extra fingers one each in both her foot and those feet don’t fit in a general average person’s shoes. So as a solution to this unique problem Adidas has announced that the company would be providing seven customized pairs of shoes to the athlete, one for each sport in her heptathlon event.
After Barman won the gold medal at the Asian Games, her problem to find the right shoes for her six-fingered feet shot to the news. Now Adidas seems to have come with a solution for the conundrum.
Over the past two months, Adidas has worked extensively with authorities in India and its own Athlete Services lab in Germany to seek a solution for Swapna, a media release said. The company analyzed the foot of the athlete and made the customized shoes, which are seven in number. The customized solutions for Swapna have been crafted keeping in mind size, pressure points and cushioning requirements to provide her the perfect fit, comfort, and traction.
Apart from winning the gold at the Asian Games, the Indian athlete has also bagged the yellow metal at the Asian Athletics Championships held in Bhubaneshwar and at the Federation Cup. She seemed ecstatic to be associated with the Adidas
