Reports : Arpinder Singh reveals tactical changes paid off at Asiad
After clinching a bronze at the IAAF Continental Cup and a gold at the Asian Games, Indian athlete Arpinder Singh has revealed that he had to make some strategic changes in Jakarta that helped him win gold. The jumper also said that he was in discomfort during the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
The 25-year-old athlete finished third and became the first Indian to win a medal at the Continental Cup. Representing the Asia Pacific team at the Continental Cup, Arpinder achieved a distance of 16.59m to achieve a podium finished third, behind Christian Taylor of the United States of America and Hugues Fabrice Zango of Burkina Faso.
Earlier, during the Asian Games, he had won a gold in Triple Jump with his best jump of 16.77

The jumper from Punjab didn't have a great start to the year as he returned empty-handed from Gold Coast. Arpinder finished fourth with a distance of 16.46m at the Commonwealth Games where he won a bronze in the 2014 edition.

Arpinder had also finished fourth at the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar last year. Although he had managed to win a bronze in the championships in 2013, he seemed excited for the 23rd editions to be played in Doha next year.
