India’s star shuttlers PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth have been given the top seeding in their respective women's and men's singles badminton competitions for the upcoming CWG. On the other hand, Saina Nehwal is seeded second in the women’s group and HS Prannoy is seeded third in the men’s division.

If everything goes well and both Indian women shuttlers win all their games, there is a possibility of them (Sindhu and Saina) meeting in the finals. Both the players have received byes in their respective opening rounds.

Thus, in the draw of 64, Sindhu will begin her campaign in the second round against Falkland Islands' Zoe Morris. Meanwhile, Saina will start her campaign with a second-round clash against Elsie de Villiers in the other half of the draw.

World No. 2 Kidambi Srikanth, who has been in scintillating form has won four Super-series titles in the last season and hence has been awarded a top-seeding in the men’s singles competition because of his superior rankings. On the other hand, World No. 12 HS Prannoy is seeded third.

Srikanth will kick things off against Liam Fong of Fiji while Prannoy will face the winner of the match between Mauritius' Paul Christopher Jean and Seychellois Steve Malcouzane in the second round.

In the women's doubles competition, Sikki Reddy and Ashwini Ponappa are seeded second and have received a bye in their opening round and will directly play the round of 16 (pre-quarterfinals). The men’s doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy have also been seeded second and will start their campaign in the pre-quarterfinal clash.

In the two Indian mixed doubles, only Sikki Reddy and Pranaav Jerry Chopra are seeded fourth and received a bye to the round of 32. Ponappa and Rankireddy are the only Indian contestants who are unseeded and have not received a bye. The unseeded pairing will start their campaign against Guernsey’s Chloe Le Tissier and Stuart Hardy in the round of 64.
