In a big jolt to the Indian fans, star shuttler PV Sindhu has opted out of the upcoming Denmark Open BWF 750 event, slated to start on October 18. The Indian had suffered a stress fracture during her gold medal-winning campaign at the CWG 2022, and had also missed World Championships recently.

Even though PV Sindhu lost her quarter-final match against South Korea's An Se-Young 21-12, 21-11 at the Denmark Open, former India international Aparna Popat feels that the Indian will come back stronger in tournaments to come. Popat also said that Sindhu is difficult to beat when on song.

Indian shuttler Ashwini Ponnappa has said that starting as a player who focused more on playing rather than thinking about the game or her opponents, she has now evolved into a player who thinks the game out. Ponnappa is currently ranked 26th in the BWF women’s doubles rankings.

Indian star shuttler Saina Nehwal pu forward yet another remarkable effort as she defeated Nozomi Okuhara and became the only Indian woman in the semi-final at Denmark Open. Srikanth sailed into the men’s single semis after he stopped compatriot Sameer Verma’s charge in the quarterfinals.
