The Premier Badminton League, which was ready to set foot in its sixth season, has been postponed by a year owing to the pandemic situation. The last edition was held from January 20 to February 9 across four cities earlier this year, with Bengaluru Raptors emerging as champions.

The date of the commencement of the fifth edition of the Premier Badminton League has been announced and it's set to start early next year on January 20, 2020. Top Indian shuttlers like PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, B Sai Praneeth, and many others are expected to participate in it again.

The city of Pune is slated to be the newest addition to the Pro Badminton League tournament and will be named as Pune Seven Aces, owned by Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu and KRI group. This would mean that the fourth season of the PBL will see a total of nine teams participating for the title.
