Antim Panghal's slayer Zeynep Yetgil was 5-0 up in her quarter-final bout against Annika Wendle when the German executed a brilliant move to win by fall.

That means Yetgil won't reach the final and there will be no repechage round for Antim. It brings a sour end to the teenager's debut Olympic campaign.

The only positive out of this bout is that the Turk could go far in this one. This could end up being a repecharge very easily.

The Indian dominated the bout throughout.

She bided her time while her opponent time and again went for the same attack. Vinesh was never going to fall for the telegraphed move and was rapid on her foot to avoid all threats.

When the time came for her to deliver though, Vinesh charged with ferocity and completed the takedown with ease then got two more points by twisting the Cuban out of sorts for good measure.

Now history awaits tomorrow. Vinesh Phogat could become just the third Indian to take an individual gold in Olympics history!!!

This is too defensive by the Indian so far. The Japanese has not done too much either but she did attempt a move at the end of the last period.

After the heartbreaking loss that Nisha suffered yesterday, Vinesh, who suffered the same fate in 2016, will be in action next. She has huge medal expectations and we would love to see a quick bout. She is up against the top seed so that in unlikely but one can hope and dream.

That is all the action from wrestling from an Indian persepctive today. Vinesh Phogat will take to the mat tomorrow afternoon with the hopes of making progress in her quest for a maiden Olympic medal.

Nisha is crying her heart out on the floor.

A brilliant show of sportsmanship from Pak to help the Indian back to her feet.

There is no consoling Nisha though as she bows out in brutal fashion!!!

AND WE GO AGAIN.

THE KOREAN GOES FOR THE ATTACK AND WINS IT IN THE DYING SECONDS WITH A TAKEDOWN!!!

PAK IMMEDIATELY PERFORMS A TAKEDOWN!!!

AND SHE TURNS THE INDIAN AROUND TWICE TO LEVEL SCORES!!!

The doctors are on again wtih 12 seconds to go.

Nisha is in sheer agony. The sprays are not doing much good.

Nisha is flat on the mat now. The pain is written all over face.

Now Nisha is holding her forearm. She is crying and seems to be in seere pain.

The doctors are on again. This is heartbreaking. She was on the brink of a huge victory.

The arm definitely seems to be dislocated at the very least.

But Nisha braves on and we get to the first 30 seconds.

The doctor is off, we resume again with a mnute on the clock.

Nisha gets Pak's angle. But the Korean turns around and Nisha goes out of bounds. A second technical point for Pak.

Nisha breaks free of another strong grip.

Pak tries to whip Nisha down but nothing doing.

The referee breaks play and warns Nisha for her grip.

Nisha now has the Korean on the floor.

SHE GETS A STRONG GRIP AROUND THE THIGH AND TURNS HER OPPONENT AROUND!!! TWO MORE POINTS!!!

Oh boy, Nisha has dislocated her finger in the process. The doctor is on the mat.

A loud cheer goes off around the arena to cheer Nisha on!!! The Indian seems to be in harrowing pain.

Nisha falls to her knees, grips Pak around the thigh.

SHE GETS THE TAKEDOWN!!!

We resume for the final three minutes. Nisha leads.

Pak tries to get a grip under the shoulders and pushes Nisha off the mat. Her first point.

Some contentious waiting around for the duo.

Nisha tries to go for the ankles but Pak backs away in time.

The two are jsut banging heads for now. There is intention of attack from either with 30 seconds to go in the first half.

Pak tries to go after Nisha but the Indian escapes comfortably and opt for a review.

They withdraw before it can be completed.

Pak tries to attack finally but the half time horn blows.

Pak grips Nisha on the nape.

The Indian breaks free.

Pak tries to bring Nisha down but the Indian slips out of her grip.

Referee tells them to go again.

Nisha is clad in red this time around. Pak in blue. We are underway.

Nisha gets Pak's ankle straightaway and executes the takedown.

Now lifts and turns Pak around to get two more!!!

That is a four point score for Nisha!!!

American Amit Elor has just defeated Polish Wiktoria Choluj 8-0 in the first quarterfinal. Next on the mat will be Nisha and Pak.

North Korea's Pak Sol-Gum has defeeated the 2023 World Championship Bronze Medalist Irina Ringaci 10-6 to book herself a bout with Nisha in the quarterfinals.

Nisha Dahiya has more pedigree as a fighter. She had finished fifth in the 2022 World Championships. Pak, meanwhile, is merely 18 years of age and this is her first showing at a major event. But that makes her a dangerous oppnent -- Nisha won't be familiar with the North Korean's fighting style which might lead to a few unpleasant surprises being sprung on her.

The bout will begin in a few minutes.

Nisha has knocked out the fifth seeded wrestler in her first bout at Paris 2024!!!

She progresses through to the quarterfinals!!!

The Indian will face the winner between North Korean Park Sol-gum and Moldovan Irina Ringaci who are on the mat now.

Nisha gets the grip around Rizhko's thigh again.

AND GETS ANOTHER POINT EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NO TAKE DOWN AS RIZHKO GOES OFF AGAIN!!!

A mintue and a half to go. If scores remain level, Rizhko will take the match on account of having scored the last scoring point.

The two tangle in a head on collison.

Rizhko goes for Nisha's ankles.

The Indian steps back and gets a grip on her opponent's torso.

The Ukrainian holds strong on her knees and Nisha has to go again. Only 34 seconds to go.

A stop in play as Rizhko escapes the attack.

NISHA QUICKLY GOES FOR THE ANKLES AND RIZHKO IS CAUGHT OFF GUARD!!!

THE INDIAN GETS HER GRIP AND TURNS THE UKRAINIAN AROUND ON THE EDGE OF THE MAT!!!

SHE TAKES A TWO POINT LEAD WITH 10 SECONDS TO GO!!!

AND THAT SEALS IT FOR HER!!!

Nisha is the one with the attacks so far on the fifth-seed but it is the Ukrainian who got the score in with a partial takedown on Nisha.

Nisha goes for the legs this time. She gets a grip around he leg and tries the takedown.

NISHA BELIEVES IT IS SUCCESSFUL BUT IS ONLY HANDED THE SINGLE POINT WHILE RIZHKO GOING OFF!!!

A perplexed Nisha challenges again.

NISHA GETS IT IN HER FAVOUR AND GETS HANDED ANOTHER POINT!!!

Nisha has the grip around Rizhko's neck again.

Both are on the mat slumped to their knees.

And that is how we end the first half!!!

The two cling head on again.

Nisha is the first to attack.

Rizhko defends by slumping on her knees.

She refuses to budge and the referee ends the play.

Nisha challenges the call.

Replays show that Nisha had fallen on her side and not on the back which makes Nisha believe it was not a takedown.

The scorers downgrade the attempt to a two point score. 

Actually, they are two two point scores for the Ukrainian so the total remains four!!!
