Viswanathan Anand jumps to fourth place in FIDE Grand Swiss Chess

India’s ace chess player Viswanathan Anand is now at the fourth place behind leaders Fabiano Caruana, David Anton Guijarro and Levon Aronian at the ongoing FIDE Chess.com Grand Swiss in Douglas. Anand’s fourth win in the event has taken his overall tally to 5.5 points in the competition.

After an excellent win against Russia’s Vladimir Fedoseev, Viswanathan Anand has moved to the fourth place with a total of 5.5 points after eight rounds of the FIDE Grand Swiss. Fabiano Caruana (USA), David Anton Guijarro (Spain) and Levon Aronian (Armenia) are the players who are at the top three places respectively. 

B. Adhiban played out a draw against USA’s Ray Robson and is a point behind Anand on the table. Vidith Gujrathi, K. Sasikiran, P. Hari Krishna, Surya Shekhar Ganguly and Nihal Sarin. D. Gukesh, Soumya Swaminathan and Prithu Gupta managed to win their respective games on the lower board.
