Rahul David enjoyed a spectacular career in international cricket for quite a long time and was "the wall" for the Indian team for almost a decade. Dravid, one of the most decorated cricketers of all time chose March 9, 2012, to announce his retirement from the international cricket.

Rahul Dravid has been one of the most celebrated cricketers of all-time and one of the greatest No. 3s to ever grace the sport. In a career that spanned over 16 years, he created a name for himself through brilliant batting display for the country and scored runs while tiring bowlers from all parts of the world.

Rahul Dravid made his international debut in 1996 at Lord’s alongside Sourav Ganguly and showed his ability by scoring 95 runs while Ganguly scored 131. That innings showed the glimpses of what the future held for the youngster as he became a mainstay at the No. 3 position for the Indian team for a decade and a half. He later in his career also led the Indian cricket team after Ganguly and led the team by example.

When everyone else failed to perform he made sure that India would never lose the momentum and took India to wins from precarious situations. His career was a great one to celebrate for the cricket fans and on this day, in March, he called it a day from the international cricket.
