According to reports, the BCCI management has rejected a request made by keeper Wriddhiman Saha to train under the guidance of former international wicketkeeper Vijay Yadav. The Bengal wicketkeeper has been out of competitive cricket ever since last year’s Indian Premier League.

Saha, who has played 32 Test matches for India is currently undergoing rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru after nursing a shoulder injury. He hasn’t played international cricket since India toured South Africa last year. It has now been around a year that the Bengal wicketkeeper has got an international match to play.

Meanwhile, a Mumbai Mirror report has stated that Saha is not getting the required permission from the BCCI to train under former international Vijay Yadav. According to the sources of the tabloid, a requisition was made before the BCCI management and its Committee of Administrators (CoA) that Saha be allowed to train under Yadav as Abhay Sharma, the regular coach for the wicket-keepers was busy with India A.

However, the board has asked him to train under Kiran More who has been an occasional visitor at NCA to impart training to the young cricketers. When More was contacted by the media house for his comments, he was clueless about any such development. The officials of the Indian cricket board could not be reached for any comments on the matter.
