A Lawyer with the name Syed Ali Zahid Bokhari has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court to immediately terminate the role of Misbah-ul-Haq as Head Coach of the Pakistan Cricket Team. Post the disappointing loss to Sri Lanka, PCB sacked Sarfaraz Ahmed as the captain of the team and dropped him.

According to the reports by The Dawn, Syed Ali Zahid Bokhari has filed a plea in Lahore High Court to stop Misbah from working from two different posts for the Pakistan cricket team. Sri Lanka had sent a second-string team to Pakistan as the seniors refused to tour owing to the terror attacks that happened ten years ago. But despite being the weaker side, Sri Lanka whitewashed Pakistan in their own den in the T20I series 3-0.

This sent a shock wave across the whole of Pakistan and some immediate action was asked for. Although Misbah seemed to back Sarfaraz Ahmed, the PCB later sacked him as the captain and dropped him from the side that will tour Australia. But no action was taken against Misbah-ul-Haq, who continues to work as a Head coach, batting consultant and chief selector all in one.

The petition mentioned that the performance of the Pakistan team will get worse if Misbah continues to be the head coach. The court, however, refrained from issuing a restraining order, stating that they had no right to decide who would be the head coach and who wouldn't. But they have sent a notice to the PCB and expect a reply within a week.

The petition also states that Misbah has been appointed without merit and has no experience whatsoever of coaching in international cricket. His secret appointment has raised a lot of eyebrows. The lawyer further said that Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan had a role to play in this as him and Misbah are distant maternal cousins and PCB appointed Misbah for pleasing the Prime Minister. It remains to be seen whether PCB continues with Misbah at the helm or whether after Sarfaraz it is Misbah's turn to face the axe.
