IPL 2020 | Thalaivan MS Dhoni will definitely take care of CSK, admits Kasi Viswanathan
Kasi Viswanathan has admitted that CSK’s skipper MS Dhoni will take care of the team before revealing that the team is in good shape and spirit ahead of the 2020 edition of the IPL. He also emphasised the importance of the CSK fan club for supporting the team throughout the ups and downs.
CSK walks into every edition of the tournament as one of the pre-season favourites. However, the dice has turned upside down this time, with the franchise’s pillars Suresh Raina and Harbhajan Singh have pulled themselves out of the tournament, owing to personal reasons. While there is a case that Raina might return during the later stages of the competition, the off-spinner might be available for the entirety of the competition.
Despite those losses, the franchise’s CEO Kasi Viswanathan admitted that ‘Thalaivan’ MS Dhoni will take care of the team and the players in the Middle East amidst the pandemic. He also affirmed that the team is in very good shape, asking the fans not to worry about the players.
"To all the Chennai Super Kings' super fans, this is to confirm that the team is in very good shape, you need not worry. We have a skipper who has navigated us through very tough times. Thalaivan will definitely take care of the team and we are very confident," Viswanathan said in a video posted on the franchise's Twitter handle, reported TOI.
"The players are in good spirits. We have had regular Zoom meetings in which the coaches and the captain have addressed the players and all of them are in a good frame of mind. I am happy to report that the team is in very good shape to take care of the matches that are coming up in the IPL," he added.
He also affirmed the importance of CSK’s fan club and fan base to the team, admitting that they are important components for the team during these tough times. The franchise too has been active on social media, constantly showing their fans what their players are up to with Instagram lives of their training sessions.
"I am very confident that the Chennai Super Kings fan club will definitely look up to the team which is very confident of doing well. I wish to emphasise that the fans of Chennai Super Kings are very important for the team and we look to your support throughout the tournament," he said.
