Australia’s rising star Jake Fraser-McGurk will make his T20I debut against Scotland on Wednesday. The 22-year-old has an impressive T20 record, scoring 1,056 runs at a strike rate of 153.50, and in this year’s Indian Premier League, he showcased his explosive batting with a strike rate of 234.04.

Fraser-McGurk has finally earned his maiden call-up for the Australian team and is set to make his T20I debut in the first match against Scotland in Edinburgh. Earlier this year, the Victoria-born cricketer was close to debuting in the T20I series against the West Indies but couldn't secure a spot in the squad. During that series in February, David Warner and Josh Inglis opened the batting for Australia, with skipper Mitch Marsh joining Warner at the top in the final T20I.
However, Fraser-McGurk made his ODI debut in that series, where he impressed with his aggressive batting, particularly in Canberra, where he blasted 41 off 18 balls.
The Delhi Capitals opener has been in exceptional form in First Class Cricket, gaining widespread recognition for setting a world record for the fastest century in List A Cricket. Fraser-McGurk smashed an incredible 125 runs off just 38 deliveries while playing for South Australia against Tasmania in October 2023.
Meanwhile, Nathan Ellis has been sidelined from the opening match against Scotland as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury, he suffered from during the 2024 Men's Hundred.
Australia playing XI against Scotland: Travis Head, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Mitchell Marsh(c), Josh Inglis(w), Marcus Stoinis, Tim David, Cameron Green, Sean Abbott, Xavier Bartlett, Adam Zampa, Riley Meredith
