Pakistan Shaheens beat India A by eight wickets in an Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 match in Doha on Sunday. Maaz Sadaqat came up with an impressive spell of 2/12 to help restrict India to a modest total before smashing an unbeaten half-century in the chase to take his side home in a lop-sided contest.

‌Pakistan Shaheens went to the top of Group B in the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 with an eight-wicket win over arch-rivals India A in Doha on Sunday. All-rounder Maaz Sadaqat had an outing to remember, picking a two-wicket haul before powering his side home inside 14 overs with an unbeaten half-century.

Put into bat at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium, Indian opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi continued his blitzkrieg from the previous game, starting with a boundary off the first ball from Ubaid Shah. The left-handed opener continued his outburst with a four and a six off Shahid Aziz in the next over, while his partner Priyansh Arya flattered to deceive as he was dismissed in the fourth over. New batter Naman Dhir also had a quick start as India ended the powerplay at 50/1. The Mumbai Indians batter hit six fours and a six during his 20-ball 35, while Suryavanshi smashed three sixes and five fours to make 45 off just 28 balls. But from 93/3 at the halfway stage, the Men in Blue endured a horrific collapse to be skittled out for only 136 with an over to spare. Aziz was Pakistan’s best bowler with a spell of 3/24 in three overs, while the spin duo of Saad Masood and Sadaqat had two wickets each.

Chasing 137, openers Mohammad Naeem and Sadaqat gave an excellent start to the Men in Green with a six and a four, respectively, in Yash Thakur’s first over. The latter, then, welcomed leggie Suyash Sharma into the attack with two boundaries before targeting Gurjapneet Singh, plundering 18 runs off the left-arm pacer to take the side to 57/1 at the end of the six-over mark. In the next over, the southpaw smashed two sixes off Naman Dhir to complete a 31-ball half-century before single-handedly taking the side home inside 14 overs. He remained unbeaten on 79 off 47 balls, smashing four sixes and seven fours, as the Shaheens ended comfortably at 137/2 to continue their unbeaten run in the tournament. For India, Thakur and Sharma picked up a wicket each in an otherwise underwhelming bowling show from India A.
