David Warner is no longer a part of the Indian Premier League, but he is still being missed by the fans. Especially the SRH fans who miss out on his presence, as he has been one of the finest opening batsmen and captain the team ever had. With three Orange Caps and an IPL trophy as a captain, his portfolio remained strong.

But it has been time since fans saw him perform in the IPL. Recently, David Warner posted a photo on his Instagram handle, where he also received love from the Hyderabad fans. One of them even commented on his photo saying that Warner has been the best captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The best captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Eventually, this comment was noticed by Warner and he decided to reply to the same. He replied by saying that the current captain of the team is even better than him. This went on as a praise of Pat Cummins (or even Ishan Kishan), as he has led the team pretty well over the last few seasons.

Our Take

David Warner knows that he has been a great captain for Sunrisers Hyderabad. But it doesn't mean that other captains such as Pat Cummins or Ishan Kishan have not given their best to the team. So, he showed great sportsmanship by accepting the fact that he is surely not the greatest the team ever had, as Pat Cummins has been leading the team well since the IPL 2024 season. Even when Cummins was unavailable for the start of this season, Ishan Kishan did the job well for the team.
