Advani goes down to Gilchrist in World Billiards 150-Up final

Defending champion Pankaj Advani went down 4-6 to Peter Gilchrist of Singapore in the final of the IBSF World Billiards 150-Up Championship in Adelaide, Australia.

Gilchrist won the first two games despite stiff resistance from the Indian. The Indian ace won the third, before Gilchrist bounced back to take the fourth for a 3-1 lead.

Advani narrowed down the lead to 2-3 with an excellent break of 92 at the interval.

Gilchrist won the opening two games in the second session, before the Indian came back strongly to win the next two games with breaks of 151 and 143 to narrow down the lead to 4-5.

Gilchrist, however, crafted a magnificent break of 150 points in the 10th to win the championship.

India’s Sourav Kothari and Nalin Patel of England, who lost to Gilchrist and Advani respectively in the semifinals, shared the bronze medal.

The time format of the competition will commence on September 24 and conclude on September 27.
