Paris Saint-Germain have agreed to a £28 million fee for Everton star Idrissa Gueye with the Ligue 1 Champions chasing after the midfielder all summer. Gueye has been looking for a move away from Goodison Park and the move is only taking place because Everton have already added a replacement.

Paris Saint-Germain for once in their near recent history have spent their unlimited funds very very intelligently. They’ve reinforced key areas by bringing in Abdou Diallo and Ander Herrera, all the while adding a creative force in Pablo Sarabia. Furthermore, by bringing in Leandro Parades in January, it has allowed the 25-year-old to adapt to Thomas Tuchel’s style of play.

But they still need that midfield destroyer that they lost when the Parisians let Juventus buy Blaise Mautidi in the summer of 2017. That area of the field has not yet been replaced and it’s just what Idrissa Gueye does so well. The Everton star has been one of the club’s standout players since his move from Aston Villa and he may now be on his way to PSG.

The Daily Mail has reported that after a summer-long chase the Parisians have finally agreed to a £28 million fee for the 29-year-old midfielder. This agreement comes just days after Everton agreed to sign Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph as a potential replacement for Gueye. The report further adds that while no personal terms have been agreed, that shouldn’t be a problem with Gueye very keen on joining the club.

The Senegalese midfielder has already made his intentions about his future clear by revealing that he wants to play Champions League football. Furthermore, this gives Everton a little under two weeks to spend the £28 million on reinforcing their side before the 2019/20 Premier League season begins.
