Liverpool are targeting a stunning move for Burnley star Tom Heaton, with the Reds looking to add a new goalkeeper to their ranks. Barring Alisson Becker and Simon Mignolet, the 2019 Champions League winners have nobody else and have had to add 35-year-old Andy Lonergan to help out.

Liverpool are very keen on bringing experienced Burnley star Tom Heaton into the fold as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to add a new goalkeeper to his ranks. The Mirror has reported that the 33-year-old, who is in the final year of his current deal at Turf Moore, could earn a move to Anfield if everything goes according to plan for him.

The Reds are eyeing cover for first-team star Alisson Becker, as they only have Simon Mignolet in their ranks. Things have gotten so bad, that the club has added Andy Lonergan in pre-season to help boost their ranks. But the 35-year-old cannot be a long-term option thus promoting the shock move for the Clarets shot-stopper before the window closes. They still have Loris Karius on their books but the 26-year-old is out on loan at Besiktas, with no intentions of returning any time soon.

But to complicate things, Liverpool will have competition from Aston Villa, with the newly-promoted Premier League side also considering making a move for Tom Heaton.
