As the future of Harry Kane continues to attract attention, Bayern Munich legend Lothar Matthäus believes the striker will stay in Munich and sign a contract extension because comfort matters more to him than money. Kane’s current deal runs until the summer of 2027 and includes a release clause of £57 million. Despite speculation about moves to leagues where he could earn much more, Matthäus feels Kane is settled with his wife and four children and shows no desire for a change.
The 32-year-old is enjoying another prolific season, scoring 26 Bundesliga goals with 12 matches still to play. His main target is the single-season record of 41 goals set by Robert Lewandowski. Kane recently reached 500 career goals after scoring twice in a 3-0 win over Werder Bremen, becoming the first English player to achieve that mark.
Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed that talks will be held soon, while Kane remains focused on trophies. Bayern currently lead the Bundesliga by 6 points and are still alive in the DFB Pokal and Champions League, with their next match against Eintracht Frankfurt.
