Anirban Lahiri has failed to make it into the main draw of the US Open after he crashed out after the first two round. Following his first round score of 74, Lahiri added another six over par on Day 2 which was not enough to secure safe passage into the list of the final cut at the Open.

Lahiri, who was playing his first Major of the year, struggled to get going from the very start of the event and eventually ended up missing the cut after just two days. After a 74 in Round 1, the 31-year-old went on to add a six-over par in the second Round to end his stint at the 119th US Open.

After a bad start on Day 1, Lahiri knew that he had to start strong on Day 2 to have any sort of chance of making the final cut. However, it wasn't to be as at the end of the front nine, Lahiri was six-over 41. He managed a couple of birdies on the back nine but two bogies meant that he ended with an even par.

However, his total accounted for nine-over 151 that was not enough to advance. This was the third time that Lahiri has failed to make the cut at the Open in three attempts. While he has taken part in the final round of all other majors, he has not been able to get it done at the US Open so far.
