Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis defeated the unseeded pair of Raluca Olaru and Yaroslava Shvedova 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 in the semi-final of the Apia International Sydney Tennis Tournament.

Mirza and Hingis extended their unbeaten run to 29 matches, which is now the longest winning streak in women's doubles, although a long way away from Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver's 109-match streak in 1983-85. 'SanTina' were made to work hard for this win though, as they dropped their first set of the tournament. The Indo-Swiss pair fought back in the second set, followed by the tie-break set.

The World No.1 team now await the winner of the second semi-final, between third seeded Caroline Garcia/ Kristina Mladenovic and second seeded sisters Hao-Ching Chan and Yung-Jan Chan.

Earlier today, fourth-seeded Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea beat Sam Groth and John Peers 6-2, 6-4. They will now face Thomaz Bellucci and Leonardo Mayer in the semi-final.
