World No.1 and defending champion Novak Djokovic has been confirmed as the top seed in men’s singles for the 2016 Wimbledon. In the women’s event, Serena Williams top the seedings, while the Indo-Swiss pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis rule the roost in the women’s doubles.

After joining Don Budge and Rod Laver as the only players to possess the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US open simultaneously, World No.1 Novak Djokovic will be aiming for a calendar grand slam by winning the Wimbledon and the US Open. The defending champion will be the top seed in the men’s event at the tournament with his rival in both the Australian Open and the French Open finals, Andy Murray seeded second.

Roger Federer, last year’s runner-up, is the third seed at the tournament, while fellow Swiss Stan Wawrinka has been seeded fourth. Current World No.4 Rafael Nadal will be missing the tournament with an injury.

In the women’s event, World No.1 Serena Williams is the top seed, while French Open champion Garbine Muguruza is seeded second. In the women’s doubles, World No.1 and defending champions Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis are confirmed as the top seeds in the event.

In the men’s doubles, Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert, who recently won the Aegon Championships, are the No.1, while the American pair of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan have been seeded second. Indian tennis star Rohan Bopanna and his Romanian partner Florin Mergea are seeded sixth in the men’s doubles event.

The draw for the tournament will take place on Friday before it officially starts on June 27.
