Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis have declared that they will join forces to defend their WTA Finals title in Singapore. The Indo-Swiss duo, who announced their split in August this year, will be seeded second for the prestigious year-ending event behind the all French pairing of Garcia-Mladenovic.

The pair, who won three Grand Slams together, will play their return match against sixth-seeded Yung-Jan Chan and Hao-ching Chan at the Singapore event.

Sania, who has just completed 80 weeks at the top of the Women's doubles rankings, took to Twitter to announce the return of "SanTina" in Singapore.

The French pairing of Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic have been seeded ahead of SanTina with the latter being placed in the bottom half of the draw. Should they overcome the challenge of the Chinese pair, they will have to face fifth seeds Andrea Hlavackova/Lucie Hradecka and fourth seeds Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina.

The defending Champions won their crown last year against the pairing of Garbine Muguruza and Carla Suarez Navarro, who they beat in the final.

After the SanTina split was announced, Mirza teamed up with Barbora Strycova, while Hingis picked Coco Vandeweghe as her partner. The duo have had mixed results with their respective partners so far.

Mirza and Hingis did face off against one another in the Cincinnati final, where the Indian emerged victorious in straight sets.
