Former World No.1 Novak Djokovic has dropped one place to fifth with Stan Wawrinka moving up to the fourth position in the latest ATP rankings published on Monday (July 31). This is the first time since July 2007 that the 12-time Grand Slam champion has been ranked outside the top four.

With 5,325 points, the Serb is currently positioned fifth in the rankings while the 2016 US Open Champion Stan Wawrinka, has accumulated 5780 points and moved up a place to secure the fourth position despite losing in the first round of the Queen’s Club Championships and Wimbledon.

On the other hand, Djokovic managed to enter the quarter-finals at SW19 but retired in the second set against Tomas Berdych due to an elbow injury. Following that incident, he recently announced a six-month recovery period to allow his elbow to heal.

On the other hand, notwithstanding his recent struggles, Andy Murray still remains the world number one, but Rafael Nadal stands a chance to dethrone him when the duo compete at the Rogers Cup next week.

Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev moved three places up to 8th with Kei Nishikori, Milos Raonic and Grigor Dimitrov all dropping one place each.

Among the Indian players, Ramkumar Ramanathan is the highest ranked Indian player despite dropping four places to 182nd in the ATP rankings. Yuki Bhambri finds himself at the 200th spot.
