Former World No.1 Novak Djokovic and Switzerland’s Stan Wawrinka will be making a comeback at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship exhibition event this December in Abu Dhabi. Both of them will return from a lengthy injury break and consider MWTC as the best platform to begin the season.

In July, Djokovic retired from the Wimbledon quarter-final against Czech player Tomas Berdych in July and afterwards, shortly ended his season owing to a right elbow injury. However, now he is all set to make a comeback and begin the season.

"The line-up is very strong as always and it will be the perfect way to make my comeback and begin the season. Abu Dhabi is an amazing place and this is going to be a great event for all of the fans,” Djokovic told the tournament website.

Also, three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka was not present to defend his U.S. Open title this year and in August, he ended his season due to a knee injury. Now after a long injury break, he has recovered and is thrilled to return to the court in Abu Dhabi.

"The fans are amazing there and the draw is as strong as always with a lot of great players. My recovery is going well and I can’t wait to be back on court,” said Wawrinka.

Moreover, star players such as World No.1 Rafa Nadal, Austrian Dominic Thiem, Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta, and Canadian Milos Raonic will also participate in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship (MWTC) tournament from 28 to 30 December.
