Pranjala Yadlapalli has stated that playing consistently and winning against some of the best players is a very satisfying experience for her. She recently won two consecutive $25000 ITF titles in Lagos, Nigeria when she defeated the same opponent Conny Perrin of Switzerland in hard court battles.

It has been an unprecedented year for the young Hyderabad girl Pranjala Yadlapalli. She won two back to back ITF women’s singles title in Nigeria which has brought her into the limelight. Before these performances, she had last won a singles tournament back in July 2017 in Egypt which was her only singles ITF title till recently.

“Yes, I have been waiting for long for this to happen. I am glad not just with the wins but the manner in which I played consistently against some of the best players. It is immensely satisfying”, Pranjala told The Hindu.

“Yes, consistency has been one factor which I will strive to achieve. I am really working hard and beating some tough players over two weeks is a huge morale-booster too.”

She also credits former Australian player and her mentor Stephen Coon and his academy for her success.

“Well, ever since I joined Aussie Stephen Koon’s Impact Training Centre in Thailand which he set up to help, mostly, the Asian players, I feel a huge change in my attitude itself. I am lotmore fitter which automatically changed my game too. I feel more confident and can take on the best in the most challenging conditions too,” sais Yadlapalli, who has won all her last ten encounters.

“I am lucky to find such a perfect mentor at this stage of my career as he knows what exactly I need to be a much better player”, said the youngster.

Every professional Tennis player craves to win the Grand Slams and the 19 year old is no different. With her recent exploits, she is expected to enter the top 300 WTA rankings for women’s singles. Further consistent performances will help her achieve the dream of playing the Grand Slam.

“Essentially, I am targeting to break into the top 200 (she will be around 280 after her two recent wins) to be in with a chance to play in the qualifiers for the next year’s Grand Slams. That is one big dream I am really chasing now,” Pranjala said.

“I have couple of big events in India itself over the next two months and I hope to keep winning to be closer to achieving my target."
