Ritu Phogat has stated that the ongoing Pro Wrestling League season has not been an easy one for her and she has had to face many challenges compared to the highest grossing player she was last season. But she also revealed that she was ready to bounce back once again by winning her next bout.

It has not been an easy going for Ritu Phogat, who in earlier seasons was the highest grossing player in the league. She has lost two matches and was rightly disappointed by her performance and has stated that she has not even asked her family to watch any of her matches because of the performance.

“Pro Wrestling League Season 4 has thrown a lot of challenges at me. From being the highest grossing player in the previous seasons to suddenly losing two bouts, is not what my family would have wished for. As a matter of fact, I have not even called my family to watch any of my matches. Rather, Babita would be more upset to see me go down,” Phogat told TOI.

Phogat also explained that though before the season started there was a lot of hype surrounding, it was her performances which shocked her the most. A Commonwealth Wrestling Championship gold medallist in the 48 kg category, Phogat has not been in best of her forms in the current Pro Wrestling season.

“When we prepare for Pro Wrestling League, there’s a lot of hype that pumps us up for the upcoming season. This season, we did long hours of Mat Le Panga shoots and then we had photoshoots and I was happy to be chosen as one of them, but my performances were a bit shocking.”

But, after all the talk, Phogat asserted that she will leave no stone unturned and will go for a win today in her match against her opponent Seema today.

“Today, I will play again against Seema, who is a 2017 National Championship Gold medallist, but recounting my achievements against any of the opponents will be of less significance because my goal is now to attain that stature back on PWL mats. But like a true athlete, I may fall a thousand times, but I’m ready to rise when I get tested. I am all set to win today!”
