PM Modi: Hosting U-17 WC is perfect opportunity to celebrate sports

Narendra Modi visited Katra in the state of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday to inaugurate a sports complex and elaborated on the need to celebrate sports. The Prime Minister also spoke about India’s contribution to the world of Yoga and how Yoga Day is now celebrated across the globe on 21 June.

When PM Narendra Modi visited Katra to inaugurate a super speciality hospital and a sports complex, he addressed the media and came up with some of his classic snippets. Speaking about the complex and how it will harvest a culture, Modi said, “This sport complex will not only promote sports but it will also promote sportsmanship.”

With India hosting the U-17 FIFA world cup next year, PM Modi believes it is the perfect time to celebrate sports in the country and promote youth. “We are hosting the FIFA U-17 World Cup and this has to be an opportunity for us to celebrate sports. The world should see our Yuva Shakti,” said Modi proudly.

The former Gujarat Chief Minister went on to speak about the importance of Yoga, as well as health and fitness. “Bharat ne duniya mein Yoga pahuchaya, ab toh United Nations bhi 21 June ko Yoga diwas manaata hai(India has given Yoga to the world and now even the United Nations celebrate Yoga Day on June 21),” beamed Modi. Talking about health and fitness Modi added, “Where there is sports you can stay away from illness. Preventive healthcare is very important”.
