Jayaram eyes success at Dutch Open badminton

Ajay Jayaram will look to ride his good form at the Dutch Open Grand Prix starting this week, following his remarkable run at the Korea Open where he reached his maiden Super Series final.

Jayaram regained a spot among the world’s top-25 rankings following his Korea performance, and the Mumbai shuttler will open his campaign against Mark Caljouw of The Netherlands in Almere, where he is the third seed.

A host of other Indians are in the fray. Ninth seed, RMV Gurusaidutt will meet Belgium's Maxime Moreels, fourth seed, B Sai Praneeth will take on Denmark's Steffen Rasmussen and Anand Pawar, seeded 14, will face Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin of Malaysia in the opening round of the men's singles.

In the women's singles, Uber Cup and Asian Games bronze medallist, PC Thulasi will take on a qualifier in the first round. Mixed doubles pair of Akshay Dewalkar and Prajakta Sawant will open against Swedish combo of Nico Ruponen and Amanda Hogstrom, while Kona Tarun and N Sikki Reddy will take on Jacco Arends and Selena Piek of the Netherlands.
