Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram, who was competing in the final of the Dutch Open Grand Prix for the third straight year, lost out to Chinese Taipei's Tzu Wei Wang 10-21, 21-17, 18-21. Jayaram fought back after losing the opening game but it was not enough to stop the World No.33 to lift the title.

India’s Ajay Jayaram moved into the final of the Dutch Open Grand Prix with a convincing win over Anders Antonsen of Denmark in the semis. However, he got off to a poor start in the final against Tzu Wei Wang, whom he had defeated in both of their previous two meetings last year, as he lost the opening game 10-21.

The 29-year-old responded swiftly and raced to a 17-11 lead in the second game. Wang did win four points in a row, but he could not prevent Jayaram from restoring parity to one game each by winning the second set 21-17. Wang, though, dominated from the start of the third game and cruised to a 17-12 lead before Jayaram cut it down to 17-16. However, the Indian did not have enough left in his tank and Wang won the third game 21-18 to lift the title.
