In the second game of the Japan Open quarter-final, against Viktor Axelsen, Kidambi Srikanth's shot hit the tape and fortunately for him the shuttle fell in the Dane's court. Srikanth acknowledged his lucky break and the two players showed great sportsmanship by high-fiving at the end of the point.
Srikanth bowed out of the ongoing Japan Open Superseries after losing 17-21, 17-21 to Axelsen in the quarterfinal. The duo resorted to an attacking style of play as they went neck to neck for most parts of the match.
