Pullela Gopichand points Kidambi Srikanth’s ability to adapt to conditions as his greatest quality
Pullela Gopichand has called Kidambi Srikanth as one of the best players in the world and stating the latter's ability to adapt to different conditions is his greatest quality. Srikanth also praised his coach’s contribution by stating that Indian badminton would not have come this far without him.
2017 was a landmark year for Indian badminton as the players raised the bar to a whole new level especially Srikanth. The Guntur boy performed brilliantly throughout the year winning Indonesia Open, Australian Open, Denmark Open, and French Open and that helped him rise as high as the second rank in the world. In the recent past, Indian shuttlers have managed to perform on the big platforms by going neck-to-neck with the foreign players. Nobody can question Gopichand's role in the development of Indian badmintom.
“He's the best I have trained under, for sure. He's been important for Indian badminton because if he had not started coaching, I don't think Indian badminton would have come this far. All the credit goes to him, and he's the most important person in Indian badminton,” Srikanth said.
