No movement on PV Sindhu’s new coach yet, says Pullela Gopichand

India's badminton chief coach Pullela Gopichand has denied reports claiming Park Tae Sang is in line to take up the women’s singles coaching job saying that there has been no movement on that front. PV Sindhu was knocked out early from the China Open and the Korea Open in two weeks successively.
India national badminton chief coach Pullela Gopichand has denied reports that said Park Tae Sang is in line to replace South Korean Kim Ji Hyun as the women's singles coach of the national team.
"I have no clue about anything like that. No idea where these things come from. As far as I know, there have been no movement on that front," Gopichand said to the IANS.Â
Hyun, who played a central role in PV Sindhu's triumphant world title journey recently, resigned last week as India's women's singles coach citing personal reasons. After that, reports came in that suggested the men's singles coach Sang will step into Hyun's shoes to train Sindhu.Â
Following her maiden gold medal at the World Championships in Basel, where she defeated Japan's Nozomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-7 in the summit clash, Sindhu made early exits at both the China Open and the Korea Open thereafter.Â
Last week, the 24-year-old crashed out of the China Open tournament as she went down fighting to Thailand's Pornpawee Chochuwong 12-21, 21-13, 21-19 in a thrilling second-round contest that lasted almost an hour. On Wednesday, she squandered a first-game advantage and went down 21-7, 22-24, 15-21 to American Beiwen Zhang in the first round of the Korea Open.
