In-form Amjyot Singh took India past Hong Kong 76-71 in the second round of the 2015 FIBA Asia Basketball Championship for men in Changsha-Hunan (China) to keep the team in the hunt for a quarterfinal berth.

The tall forward powered his way to 26 points and collected 12 rebounds as world number 61 India edged out their lower-ranked opponents to register their second win in as many games in round two.

Vishesh Briguvanshi and big man Amrit Pal Singh combined scored 24 points as India overpowered their opponents after having trailed until halfway into the final quarter.

India play Philippines on Tuesday and have a good chance of qualifying to the quarterfinal stage even if they lose the match to their opponents who are ranked 30 places higher in the world.
