Ajinkya Rahane is firm but plays the game fair as was witnessed during the IPL Qualifier 1 at the Wankhede Stadium yesterday. The RPS player took a diving catch at the boundary line during Mumbai Indians chase but instantly acknowledged that his foot had touched the line and signalled a six.

On the last ball of the 19th over Mitchell McClenaghan hit Jaydev Unadkat’s slower delivery to deep mid-wicket where Rahane was stationed. The India vice-captain dived full length to take the catch but his right foot had touched the boundary rope.

Rahane signalled a six to the straight umpire who, unsure of the player's gesture, appeared to have given the batsman out before checking with the third umpire, who ruled not out and awarded McClenaghan with six runs.

These small yet significant moments define the game.

RPS eventually won by 20 runs for their third victory in as many matches this season over their star-studded opponents in the Maharashtra derby and also become the first team to qualify for the final.

Earlier Rahane and Manoj Tiwary smashed fifties and MS Dhoni lashed a 26-ball 40 with five sixes to lift the visitors to 162-4 in the allotted 20 overs. Mumbai were restricted to 142-9 in 20 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja along with Ravichandran Ashwin became the 1st pair of spinners to be jointly ranked number 1 bowler in ICC Test Rankings history.
