IPL 2018 | After CSK, now Delhi Daredevils might have to shift out of the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium

Now, Delhi-based franchise, Delhi Daredevils might have to move out of the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium after the Delhi High Court doesn't permit the official broadcaster to telecast the IPL games out of old club house. IPL officials and event managers IMG along with the Daredevils' CEO Hemant Dua and Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) had a meeting in Delhi. The majority said that doing a live telecast away from the bowlers' arm would be a massive compromise that could lead Delhi losing its share of IPL matches.

Nearly 5,000 seats won't be available for spectators that may result in a huge revenue loss for the DD owners. In the worst case scenario where both media and broadcasting team are allowed to function through the old club house, the franchisee would still lose over 2300 seats which would again lead to loss of revenue.

Another Source said that BCCI has given a Friday deadline for DDCA to come out with a stay order. The BCCI would be forced to move out the Delhi matches from Kotla if the deadline isn’t met. With the court-appointed Justice (retd) Vikramjit Sen at the helm of affairs, the DDCA are hopeful for a verdict in their favor. However, BCCI and DD owners have considered Kanpur, Rajkot, and Raipur and even Indore as an alternate location to host DD’s IPL matches for this season in case things don’t pan out.
