Mohammed Shami’s wife Hasina Jahan who had accused her partner of domestic violence, as well as attempted murder, has lodged an FIR with police authorities in Kolkata. Shami, along with four other family members, is included in the complaint which includes claims of adultery and torture.

Things have taken a turn for the worse in the case of Mohammed Shami after reports of adultery and extramarital affairs had emerged earlier this week. Shami’s wife, Hasina Jahan, earlier claimed that her husband regularly assaulted her and said that he had affairs with up to four women other than herself while she labelled him a ‘womanizer’.

Jahan has taken matters into her own hands as she turned all these allegations into an official complaint that she registered with the Kolkata police. On Thursday, Jahan lodged an FIR against Shami and four other family members where she used terms such as torture, rape, domestic violence and also accused her husband of attempted murder.

Jahan had earlier revealed screenshots of alleged conversations between Shami and multiple women. She had also shared some photos of the Indian bowler as a proof of  “evidence” to support her claims of adultery.

The Indian pacer has been booked under sections 498A (Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 323 (Causing hurt), 307 (Attempt to murder), 376 (Punishment for rape), 506 (Criminal intimidation),  328 (Causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence.), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC. According to some reports, a non-bailable warrant has been issued for Shami.

However, Shami has come out to say that all the allegations made against him are false and are all a product of fiction as he vowed to prove his wife wrong.

“All these accusations made against me are baseless. They have no meaning. She said that this has been happening for five years, the fact is that we have been married just for four years.”

“If this (the abuse) has been happening since five years then why did it come out now. Why did it take five years for it to come out. According to me, this is a well thought out conspiracy against me. I want to remain just as normal as you’ve always seen me. On Holi and every other festival, I’ve been with my family. Spent time with my daughter and wife. Even after my wife was trolled so much in the past I stood by her. And I would like to stand by her today as well,” Shami told news agency ANI.
