IPL 2018 | PCA requests BCCI to reschedule Kings XI Punjab matches
Punjab Cricket Association has requested the Indian cricket board to reschedule two of Kings XI Punjab's league matches in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League considering the maintenance work at the Chandigarh Airport between May 12 and 31. The T20 league will start on April 4.
Because of the maintenance work, the airport likely to remain closed for around 20 days which forced the PCA to made the request. As per the existing schedule, the Punjab based team is supposed to play four home games in Mohali between May 4 and 14.
"We have received a request from PCA and IPL's governing council will surely look into it because this is a genuine problem," BCCI's acting president CK Khanna told TOI.
According to the fixtures, Kings XI Punjab is supposed to play against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 12. Their second match would be against the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 14. The Punjab team are supposed to play two of their home matches on May 4 and 6 against Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals respectively at IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
Apart from playing four home clashes in Mohali, KXIP are supposed to play three home games in Indore.
