Watch| Fan takes Rabada’s place as he quietly sledges David Warner on his way to the pavilion
While Kagiso Rabada stuck to his coach words, who had claimed that the pacer had learnt from his mistake and would behave on the field, it was a South African fan who took his place instead. After Warner's dismissal, a fan ''sledged' the batsman while he was going back to the dressing room.
South Africa and Australia are in the middle of an exciting and intense Test series. After losing the first Test, South Africa bounced back in style to win the second Test. However, controversies have dominated press conferences and interviews from the field during the series.
First, David Warner and Quinton de Kock had a verbal spat on their way back to the dressing room during the first Test and both of them were fined for their behaviour. It was followed by Kagiso Rabada's controversial incident in the second Test, where he bumped into Steve Smith and was handed 3 demerit points that resulted in a 2-Test ban. He also gave David Warner a send-off which got him one demerit point and was consequently fined for both the incidents.
The 22-year-old, however, successfully appealed against the ban and was available for selection just before the crucial third Test. South Africa
Australia started their reply with a bang with Warner going after South Africa’s premier bowler, Rabada. The Australian opener hit Rabada for three consecutive boundaries in the fourth over before continuing the carnage in the 22-year-old pacer’s next over. In Rabada’s next over, Warner hit a massive six over long-leg, which he followed with a six through backward point.
However, Rabada eventually had the last laugh as he dismissed Warner (he scored 30 in 14 balls). The latter was clean bowled as his off-stump went for a toss. Rabada was obviously pumped but this time his celebration was subdued as he only did a fist-pump before celebrating with his team-mates.
However, a fan took Rabada’s place as he gave Warner a quiet send-off. As Warner was walking back to the dressing room, the fan came close to the staircase and had some advice for the Australian opener. Warner understandably wasn’t pleased and wanted to confront the spectator but a security guard intervened to settle things. Warner and the fan were still arguing as the former climbed up the stairs.
