Mohammad Azharuddin said, on Thursday, that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has worked very hard towards hosting the first T20I between India and West Indies. The game was previously scheduled to be played in Mumbai and the third T20I was supposed to be hosted in Hyderabad.

On Thursday, the eve of the first T20I, the HCA President, Azharuddin said that have worked 'very hard' for the game and urged everyone to come and enjoy the proceedings.

"We have worked very hard for this game and I think we will have a successful game. I request everyone to come and enjoy the match. During my cricketing days, I really enjoyed it when the crowd was enjoying the match," Azharuddin was quoted as saying by the TOI.

The first T20I was scheduled to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, on December 6, whereas the third T20I was scheduled to be played, on December 11, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.  However, there was a rescheduling done because of security concerns due to which Hyderabad had to host the first game.

After the dates of the first and third T20Is were swapped by the BCCI, the HCA had to slog it out to get themselves ready to host the series opener against West Indies.

"We had a game on December 11, but because of the problem in Mumbai, they were unable to give security arrangements. So we took the responsibility and we have tried our best to provide utmost security to the people," Azharuddin added.

It took him two attempts, including a failed one to reach this position wherein Azharuddin is learning every day. He assured that he’s toiling to take the HCA on the top.

"I am still learning. It has been only two months now. I will learn as my tenure moves forward, every day is a learning opportunity for me. I will put in the experience I have and will make sure that the association rises to the top.”
