The Adelaide Strikers bounce back after hattrick of defeats in the Big Bash League with a five-wicket convincing win against the Melbourne Renegades. Chris Lynn’s blazing 88 coupled with Henry Thornton’s three-fer eclipsed Josh Brown’s blistering start to boost the visitors’ camp.

Fielding first, the Strikers got off to a good start inside the field restrictions curbing the opposition to just 20 runs for one wicket. Subsequently, a wicket fell in a 20-run fifth over before Josh Brown and Jacob Bethell consolidated a 47 runs partnership. With 87 runs in eleven overs, the Englishman fell to Jamie Overton, making way for three more wickets with the score 109/6 in 15 overs. With Brown gone for 66, the Strikers capitalised on the exerted pressure and restricted the Renegades to 142/9 in full quota.

In response, Chris Lynn was aggressive inside the mandatory powerplay, gathering 37 runs under D’Arcy Short’s presence. The wicketless phase transitioned into a 104 runs opening stand with the veteran tearing down the opposition bowlers in majority of the second innings. Short’s second fiddle knock ended in the twelfth over followed by Lynn trudging off with a magnificent 88 off 51 balls. James Bazley, Jake Weatherald, and Ollie Pope faltered with little to get, taking an easy equation to one needed off the last three overs before the intense drama subsided with a Strikers win.
