The Sri Lankan team has made two changes ahead of their upcoming match against India. Their line-up was already affected with injuries, as they decided that making these changes would be a lot more suitable. Kusal Mendis was expected to be back in the playing XI for the second game, but he has not achieved full fitness.

Moreover, Dinesh Chandimal also suffered with a neck and shoulder injury in the first test. Since he was replaced by the team due to a concussion, he won't be available for the second Test too. And in place of these two players, Sri Lanka has announced replacements just in time.

Kamil Mishara and Sahan Arachchige have joined the team for the second Test against India. Mishara was able to do well for the Sri Lanka A team in the previous series against India A, as Sahan Arachchige did well in the domestic circuit.

Our Take

The changes made by the Sri Lankan team to the line-up were somewhat needed. And these were not needed after the loss against India at their own home-ground, these were needed to ensure they bring out a fit line-up for the next game. Since both of them are maiden call ups, Sri Lanka will now aim to use them in the second Test against India and turn the tables. It should be noted that another loss will make it difficult for Sri Lanka to reach the WTC finals.
