MSC Maratha Royals got off to an aggressive start, as Chinmay Sutar and Siddhesh Lad took advantage of the powerplay restrictions. They were able to bring down 58 runs for no loss in the powerplay, before Ankur Singh dismissed Sutar at the score of 34. Lad was able to anchor the innings well, as Om Bangar played the supporting role.

Aakash Tigers MWS were able to fight back well with the help of Shams Mulani. He slowed down the scoring rate and even took the wicket of Bangar. The turning point arrived when a direct hit from Sarfaraz Khan dismissed Lad at the score of 61. Even after suffering a setback, Atharva Bhosale and Aryan Patni were able to give the team a late flourish, which helped them to score 181/7 in 20 overs.

In reply, Aakash Tigers MWS didn't start well as Varun Lavande lost his wicket early to Tushar Deshpande. But Jay Bista and Sarfaraz Khan started a counterattack.
