The BCCI continues to reward its players after every major tournament win. The board had earlier rewarded players with massive amounts following their World Cup win, and it even continued in the T20 World Cup 2026. A prize of 131 crore rupees has been announced for the Indian player after winning the T20 World Cup.

The Indian players will now be in a delight after winning the T20 World Cup 2026. They have taken home the trophy along with the highest prize of the tournament. But along with that, even the BCCI has decided to add more to what the players will receive. Just like every other winning tournament, the board has announced a prize for the T20 World Cup winning team.

It has been confirmed that 131 crore rupees will be distributed to the T20 World Cup winning team by the BCCI. This includes the players and the support staff, and the amount is much more than what was awarded by the board in the previous tournaments. As the Indian team continues to bring ICC trophies, the BCCI also continues to give them massive rewards.

Team India's Total Winnings

The Indian team made history by winning the T20 World Cup 2026. They broke a number of records, as they became the first team to win the title three times, first team to win as the hosts, and the first team to get consecutive title wins. But the record is not just the only thing which the team took home.

The tournament already had a massive prize pool of 11 million US dollars. Being the winners of the tournament, the Indian team has taken up 2.34 million dollars or 21.5 crore rupees (approximate) from the same. The total prize pool of the tournament was just 101 crore rupees (approximate).

And the BCCI has rewarded the Indian team with more than they could have received from the entire tournament. Announcing a prize of 131 crore rupees to the T20 World Cup winners, this amount is approximately 30 crore rupees more than the total prize pool of the tournament. This also means that the Indian team has won more than 150 crore rupees after winning the title.

BCCI’s Recent Distributions

The Indian team has brought up various trophies over the last two years. From 2024, the team has won several tournaments such as T20 World Cup 2024, Champions Trophy 2025, Asia Cup 2025, and even the T20 World Cup 2026. Along with that, the Women's team also won the World Cup in 2025, which was hosted in India.

For each win, the BCCI announced a massive prize for the players and the coaching staff. This has acted as a confidence booster for the team, as they get the much needed backing from the board. Moreover, the prize of 131 crore rupees announced by the BCCI is the highest so far, as it surpasses the 124 crore rupees given to the team after winning the T20 World Cup 2024.

India's Historic T20 World Cup Campaign

India had a historic T20 World Cup campaign, as the team went on to defeat history to etch its name at the top. Before this tournament started, no host team had won the title, no team had been able to win the tournament consecutively, and no team had won the title three times. But India went on to break all these records, as they lifted the title.

The start of the tournament came out to be dominant for the hosts. India went on to win all of its games in the Group stages, and marched into the Super Eight being undefeated. But things took a quick change for the Indian team, as they suffered a 76-run loss to South Africa. Now, every game was a do-or-die for the Indian team if they wanted to reach the playoffs.

India went on to defeat Zimbabwe and West Indies to make their way to the semi-final. There, the team went against England in a close game, where India came out victorious by 7 runs. Being the defending champions, India had successfully marched into the finals of the tournament, where they had to face New Zealand.

And the final clash against New Zealand came out to be one-sided. India posted a massive total of 255 runs in this game, with Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan smashing half-centuries. Eventually, New Zealand was bowled out for just 159 runs, giving India a 96-run victory in the finals.
