Sourav Kothari has knocked out ace billiards player Pankaj Advani in the pre-quarterfinal round of the ongoing Billiards World Championship in Melbourne. After the commanding win, Kothari will now play against Robert Hall of England in the quarter-finals of the world championship on Friday.

Kothari had a great time on the table on Thursday as he got the better of Advani to send him out of the tournament with a commanding win. He won the game on Thursday quite comfortably by a good margin of 1047-663 in a game that went for two hours and 30 minutes. Kothari will now play against Robert Hall of England in the quarter-finals of the world championship on Friday.

Kothari got the first break of 407 and after his return to the table, he was brilliant and got a 295 break. In the convincing win last evening, Kotari secured huge breaks of 407, 295 and 170 in his favour.

Advani was trailing by 700 points at one point of time and tried hard to get back in the game with around one hour still remaining in the pre-quarter game. Although he narrowed down the margin with a break of 262 points, Advani was not able to go past the score of Kothari and eventually got knocked out of the competition.
